BIO

Kitty Schroeder is an artist based in Cincinnati, Ohio, who is currently creating layered, map-based images using mixed mediums. These works convey a sense of energy and time, centering on the relationship of mapping with global connectivity.  Childhood experiences moving repeatedly continue to inspire her layered methods of making artwork.

She earned a BA and MA from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, focusing on ceramics, printmaking and drawing.  In Arkansas she worked as an Artist in the Schools and as a founding member of ArtSpace Artist Cooperative. She worked eight years in the Junkind Photographic Art Department and held a brief adjunct position at Henderson State University.

After filling two adjunct positions, art making was subjected to realism and support for her family. Her focus since retiring remains on skills and experimentation.  In 2024, she completed a year-long residency at Manifest Gallery.

Kitty has received awards, purchase awards for drawing, exhibited in juried and group shows.  Her figure drawing was included in the 16th Annual Figurative Art Exhibition at Susquehanna University in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania.
